In order to satisfy the load development of the West Inner Mongolia Grid and to keep the power output capability to the outside system, it is very necessary to build the 2×300MW units of Kangbashi Thermal Power Plant. The thesis introduced the status of the Inner Mongolia Grid and the general situation of Kangbashi Thermal Power Plant constructing project. The method of the units connecting to the power system was deeply studied. The system stability after the units are connected to the system was analyzed by power flow and transient stability calculation. The connection methods are determined according to the analysis results and with consideration of economy. The main electrical connection schemes of the power plant in the connection method are determined. The research results of the thesis provided technological references for the design of power plant connecting to the power system.
