In the modern thermal power plant, the superheated steam temperature is one of the main parameters of the boiler, which is very important for unit's safety. Aiming at the characteristics of large inertia and non-linearity, the main steam temperature system is controlled using state variable and multi-model. State feedback is used to compensate the large inertia. Then the compensated generalized plant is controlled by PID controllers. The feature parameters of main steam temperature system are different in different operation conditions, so the multi-model control is put forward for the realization of wide range control. The simulation results show that the control method proposed is an effective control strategy for the main steam temperature system with large inertia and non-linearity.
