The stability of catalyst seriously restricts the commercialization of PEMFC.Pt/C and PtM/C are the commonly used in PEM fuel cell. However, due to the weak cohesion between Pt and carbon support the Pt nanoparticles will readily move and agglomerate to gether. In addition, the carbon support can be corroded during the operation of PEM fuel cells which seriously influences the stability of catalysts. As a fuel cell catalyst support, CNTs surface is inertia.Pt particles is difficult to deposit on the surface of carbon nanotubes. In order to solve the surface of the inert CNTs,improve the binding force of Pt-CNTs,we modified carbon nanotubes wrapped by polyaniline。The polyaniline assembly of the CNTs surfacebyπ-πbonding effect, while Pt deposited on the polyaniline polymer chain. This solved the Pt surface can not be effective in the line of CNTs nuclear issue, and does not undermine the carbon nanotube structure. While Pt nanoparticles and polyaniline also has a good combination between the strength. Conductive polymer modifiers are also conjugated polymers, inherently conductive, after the synthesis of catalyst,it need not remove. In this study, both colloid method and chemical oxidation were employed to prepare the Pt-PANI/CNTs.The pt particle in Pt-PANI/CNTs ceatalysts is uniform.IR and TEM shows the role of polyaniline coated carbon nanotubes.Meanwhile, Study its electrochemical stability by CV.The results show that the Pt-PANI/CNT has better durability than that of Pt/C.The ECSA of Pt-PANI/CNTs is reduced by 60% over 4000 cycles, while Pt/C is reduced by 60% only over 1400 cycles. The mechanism of the stability of functional Pt-PANI/CNTs was discussed. The remarkable high electrochemical stability of CNTs supports and the adhesive effect and steric effect of functional Polymers such as PANI were regarded as the key factors.
