In recent years, China has become a big exporter of stone processing. But the application of Numerical Control in special-shaped stone is at its start exploration stage, which restrained the development of stone processing. The present situation is caused because of immature CNC maching process and lack of professional shaped stone automatic programming system.In this paper, CNC maching process of special-shaped stone was studied and developed, the processing difficulties of some typical products were summarized, and solutions to these problems were proposed according to the successful use of CNC in metal maching.Analyze CNC maching process and important parameters of falgstone products. With reference to the concept of tool radius compensation, drill in the position of two adjacent curves in advance, in order to conceal tool marks, cut the workpiece to be transparent and not scratched.Analyze CNC processing similarity and important parameters of falgstone products and rotational products. Compensate for tool thickness to ensure the dimensional accuracy of the workpiece and adopt the method of equal-chord to get the points in the outline curve, in order to adjust the interval of the feed.A new interpolation algorithm by equal-error method to approach curves with beeline is proposed based on Roll's theorem and dichotomy, which can be applied to commonly used curves in stone processing such as elliptical arc and sine curves.An auto-programming system of special-shaped stone processing is developed based on C++ Builder 6.0. The system can provide the following functions:geometric modeling, tool path generation, process simulation and NC code generation. A detailed study has been done to the implementation of each function, and the study and application of the tool radius and thickness compensation is the core of the system.
