Research On Industry Historic Buildings' Adaptive Re-using In Textile City, Xi'an

In the age of the post-industrial, the industry historic buildings cames to be an importent part of the world cultural heritage. On the one hand, its unique architectural form reflects many industrial characteristics, on the other hand, these buildings also need the following development. So, it's a hard choice to decide to remove or to retain them.At the same time, the world is going to face at the developing of the creative industries. There're many conflicts between the creative industries and the industry historic buildings. We have to find the balance between them.The Textile Art Zone in Xi'an was just growing up at this complicated time. As the only one contemporary art zone, it's importent to find the way that how to retain and reuse the industry historic buildings in this park.This article began with the development of the historic buildings and the creative industries, and analysed the causes, background and process of them. Then, the author discribed the background and the statuses of the Textile Art Zone. After that, the author analysed the location, the totol view and the single building's reusing-way of the Textile Art Zone. At the same time, the author finded many different cases which have already in the re-use now. After the comparing between them and the Textile Art Zone, the same features of them had been found out, and both the unique features of the Textile Art Zone had also been found out.By these materials, the author finaly gave some suggestion about how to design and re-use the historic buildings at the Textile Art Zone based on the concept of sustainable development.
