| In subgrade engineering projects, there are always unstable foundations needed being deal with. In order to overcome these defects, cement is often mixed with soil to increase the integrity, water stability and strength of the layer.Although adding a certain percentage of cement into soil and gravel to create the stabilized soil can improve the engineering characteristic of soil, the effect is not entirely satisfactory. How to improve the engineering characteristic of the mix, and maximize the use of construction materials in-site in project, has become a focus of concern.By modify the chemical and mineral composition of the mix via adding additive, make the granular materials in ground treatment works in-site (even the sludge and other industrial waste materials) could be used for us, which is a direction to solve these problems. In this paper, Synthesis of alkaline earth metal salts agent "RoadCem" produced by PowerCem Technology Inc. is tested by laboratory experiments to study the effect of cement stabilized soil and the application in foundation engineering. The paper systematically studies on the effect of RoadCem, and compares and analyses test results. This paper includes the following components:1. Development of Cement Modifier;2. Experimental comparisons and Analysis of cement modifier, against different types of granular materials for unconfined compression, split, resilient modulus;3. Application value and development prospects of the cement modifier in subgrade engineering.According to the test results, it can be conclude that RoadCem can significantly improve the mechanical properties of mix. The contents of cement and RoadCem have great influence on the mechanical properties of the mix. |
