Power system grounding is an important measure to take in the aspect of maintaining the normal operation of power systems and the safety of the staff and electrical equipments, especially the high voltage grade transmission network. To meet the requirement of reducing unnecessary losses, we should reduce the grounding resistance of grounding grid as far as possible.Up till now, the principle measures adopted are as follows:expanding the area of grounding net, increasing grounding rod, soil renewal and use of preparation etc. The method used in chemistry is a part of soil chemical treatment, to improve the soil around the grounding conductivity. Using chemical methods to reduce the resistivity of the soil, it is adding ion peaking in the soil around the grounding to improve conductivity of soil, thereby reducing the grounding resistance.It is very common to take measures on resistance willfully, neglecting investigation of external conditions, geographic location and geology condition. These measures often do not meet the requirements and even bring dangers to safe operation of electric power systems.This paper mainly introduces a new sustained-release ion grounding device, which is composed of the inner and outer tubes and is different from common single grounding in structure. In terms of ion packing in the reduction of resistance, we divide it into internal and external one. The ion packing reduces the grounding resistance and extends the service life of ground grid. In the course of the study, the characteristics and advantages of sustained-release ion grounding device come mainly through experiments. At the same time, choose the optimal ion packing reagents. In the experiment, the effect of ion filler is main landing, so first of all to find the best ion packing, so that sustained-release ion grounding devices achieve the best reduction in resistanceThrough the experiment we can draw that the effect to the sustained-release ion grounding devices is 40% higher than that of the general ones in terms of reducing the grounding resistance.
