Power transformer is the important power system equipment; it is the basis for power system steady-state and transient analysis to the right to establish steady-state and transient model of the transformer. Based on the duality principle, a nonlinear transformer model is presented. Contacting the corresponding the magnetic circuit and the circuit, a transformer nonlinear transient equivalent circuit model is established by duality principle from the transformer magnetic circuit model to consider. To express the nonlinear characteristics of iron core simply and accurately, the excitation branch is identified by the fittingφ? i using the neural network method and a variable resistor (express ferromagnetic losses). Meanwhile, the accuracy of FEM is verified by comparing the results between coil's electrical parameters calculated by the FEM and received by the tests. Last, transient test is operated on a 10kV transformer, and simulation is done by ATP-EMTP through the establishment of model. And comparison of simulation results and experimental results, the validity the model is proved.
