Compound Geomembrane Facing Dam is a new face rockfill dam type, its impervious body design, construction and quality control are the key technologies such dam-type.The dam is more important calculation of the stress-strain.Facing dam is one of the most important hydro, structure. It is primarily made of rockfill and gravel, which is of bearing function. And at the upper side of dam, the concrete face is located, which is of antiseepage function. It receives the widespread attention of its multitudinous merits. The key problem with concrete, faced rockfill dam is the deformation of the dam and the leak caused by the damage of gap in the concrete face. Therefore, the deformation of the dam becomes the core problem in the design of the dam. linear finite element model is done with large finite element software—ADINA, and the deformation and stress of the dam is analyzed.The physical and mechanical characteristics of rockfill is analyzed, and the element type and contact element type is determined. According to experiment data and research results, the Duncan.. Chang non.. linear constitutive model is selected to denote the stress strain character of rockfill, and the rockfill material parameter is also determined. The incremental construction process of rockfill dams was numerically simulated. Using "birth and death" element supplied by ADINA.The deformations of peripheral iointsand vertical ioints of the cohereteface in different periods are simulated. The contact model between face and rockfill, is done with contact element supplied by ADIN A. As well as composite geomembrane faced rockfill dam of parameters sensitivity analysis, summarizes the material parameters on the stress and displacement of importance.As a newkind of seepage control material, the composite geomembrane has been widely used in embankment dam, yet the seepage control characteristics and effect of the composite geomembrane have not been studied on theory.Based on the seepage control characteristics andmechanisms of the composite geomembrane, this paper analyzes the seep-age conditions on the composite geomembrane in seepage control of embankment dam with FEM. The result of calculation manifests that the seepage state is improved and the storage capacity is enhanced after paving the composite geomembrane to the embankment dam.
