Water resources problems have seriously restricted the economic and social development of Chanba River basin in Xi'an City. Considering the economic, social and ecological status of Chanba River basin, ecology-oriented water resources optimal allocation of Chanba River basin is systematically studied in this paper. A multi objective linear programming model is built, and the configuration optimization scheme is obtained by solving this model with the optimization function in Matlab toolbox.The main research contents and achievements are listed as follws:(1) Firstly, the water resources problems in Chanba River basin of Xi'an are discussed in detail, and the necessity of this research is demonstrated. In combination with the research status of water resources allocation as well as their development trend in the late 20th century, the content and technical route of this research are determined.(2) Based on the actuality of water resources and the water supply and use status in this basin, the industrial, domestic, agricultural and ecological water demand are predicted,then the supply and demand balance are analyzed. The control scheme of pollutants discharged into rivers is obtained by calculating the water environment capacity and pollutant emission. On the basis of comprehensive analysis, the necessity of research on the ecology-oriented water resources optimal allocation in Chanba River basin is determined.(3) By considering the eco-environmental water consumption as a water consumption department, the model of ecology-oriented water resources optimal allocation is established under the guidance of multi-objective optimization theory, and the coupling between water quantity and quality is achieved. Based on the water use and supply status in 2020 and 2030 at 75%guarantee rate, the model is solved by the optimization function in Matlab toolbox. Results show that the model and algorithm are reasonable and effective. This model pay attention to groundwater protection, which has embodied the thought of sustainable development,and is beneficial to economic benefit and water supply reliability, the optimal allocation scheme provide reference and decision basis for the plan of sustainable utilization of water resources in Chanba River basin.
