According to different objectives fortification, seismic design have two different forms: one is the elastic design method, the other is elastic-plastic design method.Elastic design method is a seismic design method which aim at the section stress maintaining in the line elastic, with the structure of the elastic strength to resist seismic loading and ensure the structural safety while the structure under design seismic load.Different with elastic design, elastic-plastic design allow section stress into plastic range in the earthquake, in other words, elastic-plastic design aim at ensuring the structure does not occur excessive damage when the earthquake take place. It is a design method which calculated seismic response with the elastic-plastic theoryThis paper introduces the method of elastic-plastic design. Firstly, elaborate the moment resisting performance and Shear resisting performance of the concrete bridge pier. Secondly, introduces the Earthquake Damage Assessment of the bridge. Finally, two kinds of plastic hinge including Takeda Model and the Fiber Model are applied to Mianzhu city Huilan bridge. Establish finite element calculation model of bridge, and analyze it by nonlinear dynamic time history analysis. Comparative analysis of the results of two plastic hinge model. The conclusions will give some reference for seismic ductility design of bridge.
