With the growing energy crisis and environmental pollution, there is a growing emphasis on wind energy, small hydropower, tidal energy and other renewable sources. The Obama Government proposes a "new energy plan",which will have far-reaching effections on the future world politics, economy and energy structure. Brushless doubly-fed generator is one kind of VSCF(variable speed constant frequency) generator,which is brushless,none slip ring,is of high reliability,has small capacity and also can adjust the active and reactive power independently comparing to other kind of generators.Therefore,growing emphasis is focus on the development of new energy power generation that is applicable to the specific generator.And it has important theoretical and practical value on studying the brushless doubly-fed generator.This paper, works on BDFM which has squirrel-cage rotor structure is the object to study to detailedly analyze the internal electromagnetic process, establishs the basic equation of the equivalent circuit and analyzes the different operation modes.lt also establishes dynamic mathematical model of the brushless doubly-fed motor by using coordinate transformation theory,and set up the rotor speed d-q model in the MATLAB/Simulink environment,which is used to simulate dynamic characteristics when it works on single feed, dual-fed synchronous, doubly-fed operation and power generation mode,and obtains the conclusion that the BDFM needs small converter capacity and its speed converter is of synchronous motor characteristics.Meanwhile,this paper introduces variety control strategies of BDFM,gives significant analysis of its vector control strategy and proposes stator flux-oriented decoupling control strategy of speed brushless doubly-fed generator basing on d-q rotor model.The simulation results,which has laid a theoretical foundation to further study of the brushless dpubly-fed generation system,verifies the correctness of brushless doubly-fed generation system model and the validity of power winding field oriented control.The BDFM is suitable to AC speed control system of great capacity besides working as VSCF generator.The extensive use of BDFM in power system can both open the source, throttle, significantly improve power quality and increase the system reliability.The research in this paper will give some reference value on development of BDFM and power control.
