Supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China under grant No.50707008, based on the electrical structure, physical characteristics and works of convertor valve, a physical-significant wide frequency equivalent circuit model is proposed. Finite Element Method (FEM) is used to compute the elementary circuit parameters of the main device of convertor system. In order to make the equivalent circuit model physical-significant and corresponding frequency characteristics meeted, a combining modeling method is proposed. The model is proved to be accurate by analyzing frequency characteristics of the circuit. At last, the simulation analysis on convertor valve mode and tower is carried on. For validation, the simulated computed result is compared with the measurements on real convertor valve system, and the result illustrate that the modeling method is valid and the extraction of circuit parameters is precise.
