Water resources are becoming more and more scarce,the thermal power industry faces unprecedented challenge.To compare with ordinary water-cooling technology,the water can be saved more than 2/3 if the air-cooling system was used.The principle of the direct air-cooling condenser and the characteristics of it were introduced.The calculating method of air-cooled condenser energy consumption and the selection method of heat transfer coefficient were described. And the energy-saving potential of air-cooling condenser was Analysised.To guide the direct air-cooled unit of the power plant to run the optimization of guidance. Considering the construction of power plants in the world and the situation of our country,direct air-cooling technique should be widely adopted in China to Solve the problems of the water shortage in north China region rich in coal.
