Based on a large number of rotor mass-unbalance fault cases, the paper deeply investigates the rotor mass-unbalance of turbo-generator unit, and the method of using it in the actual. According to the site occurred of the fault and the reasons of the fault, the mass-unbalance fault is divided into original mass-unbalance and droping off rotating parts. The phenomenon, reasons, features and solutions of the fault have been picked up from the cases. Because the features of center bore plug are hard to identify, the paper espetially analyzed the abnormal features of center bore plug drop-off. A new method of monitoring also has been recommended. The paper combined the FMEA and the FTA and gets the mass-unbalance fault tree. The paper did a simulation to diagnosing the mass-unbalance fault of turbo-generator unit. The simulation confirmed the features which picked up from the cases are correct. And there is possibility using it in the actual.
