This paper mainly study one of chief components in horizontal axis wind turbine-mechanical brake system.Building the mathematical model of braking system,calculating braking torque and addition of temperature of brake plate of the 1.3MW wind turbine.Using of ANSYS finite element analysis software, the paper makes static analysis and transient thermal analysis,in the case of the beginning of braking and in the case oftemperature of brake plate add to the maximum temperature to the braking system And we can obtain the temperature distribution cloud picture generated by the friction and stress distribution cloud picture.And analyzing the influence of brakeing torque and temperature on the performance of braking system. Analyzing the impact of brakeing torque on the temperature and vibration of gearbox.The paper provides some very good suggestions to wind turbine research and improvement braking system in the future.
