With the development of the hydraulic transmission and the control technology, the applications of the pump are expanding rapidly. A higher demand to the performance of the pump is put forward. In this paper, a new-style face screw pump was brought forward. The structure of this pump is compact; the processing of this pump is convenient and the pump is also small and light. Therefore, it could be used in many domains, such as aviation, shipping, engineering machinery, lifting transport, metallurgy industry and so on.The virtual prototyping technology is that the users and designers create the model of mechanical system on computer to simulate the characteristics of the kinematics and dynamics in the real environment. The model could be processed by other three-dimensional solid modeling software, and then be transmitted to the ADAMS environment by interface. The virtual prototyping technology was applied to the design of the new-style face screw pump, the design cost could be saved, the design cycle could be shorted, the design process could be repeated, and it has an important practical significance.The structure features and working principles of the new-style face screw pump were analyzed firstly in this article; the theoretical analysis to the movement characteristics was carried on summarily; the mathematics models of displacement, instant speed and instant acceleration of the moving plate were established. At the same time, the flux characteristic of the face screw pump was analyzed, the mathematics model of instant flux was established , the simulation was carried on by MATLAB software and the relationships between the numbers ( single or double ) of the plate tooth and flux fluctuate were validated. The three-dimensional solid model of the new-style face screw pump was established by Solidworks software, by the interface of Solidworks and ADAMS, it was entered into the ADAMS software environment. By adding constraints and forces, the physics prototype model of the new-style face screw pump was established. The simulations to the physical model in the conditions of different speeds were carried on; the corresponding simulation data curves were obtained and the detailed analysis was carried on to it. The experiment platform was constructed; experiment was carried on for the prototype of the new-style face screw pump.
