In three-phase four-wire power, The problem of the three-phase unbalancing is influenced by unbalanced loads that impacts safety and stabilization of power system and the low-voltage distribution network. In this paper, compensation controlling system and method for the unbalanced system are studied and designed which are applicable to three-phase four-wire power system.Phenomenon and the cause of three-phase unbalancing is analyzed in this paper, in allusion to unbalanced loads in three-phase four-wire power network, unbalanced compensator base on which uses a new kind of PWM control strategy with 3rd harmonic injection and employs arithmetic of equal power method. Three-phase system can be balanced by this method. This algorithm has been found to be effective for three-phase four-wire power system especially in single-phase load, at the same time, compensated for the harmonic and reactive power.Three-phase unbalancing compensation system using MATLAB/Simulink tool is simulated and analyzed at several typical loads. The simulation results show that the compensation method can compensate for unbalanced load. In other words, from the supply power system, the compensator system and load combined together behave as a balanced resistive load. The compensator system has been found to be effective no matter the type of the load, and meanwhile has a good dynamic response performance.A experimental prototype for three-phase four-leg power system based on DSP (TMS320LF2407) has achieved. The control programs are compiled and debug. The prototype model is tested in low voltage.
