This thesis states the origin, idea, superiority, inferiority and development of virtual endoscopy technology and conducts a concrete research on the various key techniques of this technology.In the reconstruction of 3D, there are surface reconstruction and volume rendering, this paper will expatiate these two technologies respectively and emphasize the study of surface rendering. Marching Cubes algorithm is a typical algorithm which is the most widely used in surface rendering. It takes the object space as sequence which is used to reconstruct by 3D the image data composed of pixel.The application of mobile cube algorithm of 3D reconstruction produces a large number of triangles, these triangles challenge the computer calculation speed, seriously hamper the development of virtual endoscopy technology. Therefore, we have studied the model of triangular mesh simplification method, after simplifying the huge numbers of triangles; it does not lower the accuracy but greatly improve the performance.In the conclusion some deficiencies in our study are summed up, and the room and direction of this research are expected.
