Single phase active power-factor correction (APFC) technology is the important part of Power Electronics technology; it also has been widely adopted in low to medium power application. The performance of the APFC converter is heavily related to its control scheme, operation mode and parameters design. The Non-ideal characteristicses of main components in the PFC circuit have important effect on the current distortion. This paper presents a systematic analysis of the circuit parasitic parameters and input capacitance voltage clamp characteristics effects on line current total harmonic distortion (THD).This paper present a brief review of the technology (operation modes and control schemes) applied in Boost PFC circuit, then have a summary of the non-ideal characteristicses existing in Boost PFC circuit.Due to the traditional analytical method based on the average inductor current model suffers from inaccurate and single parameter analysis, this paper presents a theoretical analysis model based on the inductor current, and the effect of main circuit parasitic parameters on the line current THD are analyzed, such as the parasitic capacitors and circuit loss.A novel average inductor current model has been presented with the help of inspiration based on previous mode, then the non-ideal characteristicses effects have also analyzed with the novel mode. The effectiveness of the mathematic model and the analysis results are verified by the experimental results. Some solutions to optimize the effect on current distortion have been suggested.
