In order to solve the problem of corrosion diagnosis of grounding grids, a software of modeling and corrosion diagnosis of grounding grids is developed based on the hierachical model on the platform of Matalab. The developed software consists of eight blocks, such as, the input and configuration block, the topology conversion block, the structural testability evaluation block, the optimal test scheme forming block, the test completement checking block, the optimum solution evaluation block, the possible ranges evaluation for uncertain branches block and the output abd display block. Combining above blocks artificially, five processes may be formed to meet various requirements of grounding grids corrosion diagnosis. The programming of automatically establishment of quasi-circuit-blocks, circuit-blocks, block-networks, assessable grounding grid and intrinsic grounding grid is detailed. The programming of structural testability evaluation, the clear branch resistances diagnosis, the uncertain branch groups dividing, the possible ranges evaluation for uncertain branches based on dichotomy are described. The input and output data structures are given. The relationship of the blocks and the way to use the blocks are also described. The developed software is tested on the example grounding grids with twenty-nine branches, thirty-two branches and sixty branches, respectively. The results show that the developed software can work out the models of the six layers of the grounding grids correctly and that it can obtain the resistances of clear branches and the possible ranges evaluation for uncertain branches. The developed software is feasible and a useful tool for grounding grids corrosion diagnosis.
