As a kind of semi-rigid connections,end-plate connections can incraase damp,prolong period,and improve energy consumption capacity of the structure.so it can reduce the damage,and is one of the best forms for resisting earthquake.Whereas less study on Beam-to-column connection are concentrated in the aspect of Semi-rigid connections at present, especially the weak-axis connections. Taking into account end-plate thickness, column web thickness,the type of bolts and so on,this paper systematically analyses the behavior of beam-to-columb minor-axis end-plate connections ,which is of great significance.This paper applies nonlinear(material,geometry and contact)finite element method to analyze the behaviors of minor-axis extend end-plate connections of 14 species of 5 series deeply. The paper mainly discusses the factors'impact on extended end-plate-type node performance.These factors include End-plate thickness, web thickness, bolt diameter, distance between bolt hole, bolt arrangment. The main conclusions are listed: comapared with rigid connections, the end-plate connections for semi-rigid beam-column joints have a strong stiffness and ultimate bearing capacity. The connections have a more stable performance, which can be carried on the system of columns and bars. Stiffening ribs bear tension and compression loading from column web, and effectively resist deformation of the column web under cyclic loading, increasing the stiffness of the connection. The Stiffness of node are connected with the end-plate thickness, the thicker end-plate, the greater the initial connection stiffness,while the end-plate thickness had been up to a certain extent, the increasing of the end-plate thickness cann't bring evident affect to connections stiffness; Column web thickness can change the initial connection stiffness, the increasing of column web thickness can increase the carrying capacity of beams,but it can reduce the plastic rotation and ductility. Bolt diameter of nodes have greate impact to hysteretic behavior. The use of smaller diameter connecting bolts can effectively improve the ductility. Bolt hole distance and arrangement of node have a certain impact on hysteretic behavior. Reasonable arrangements for bolt hole distance and the arrangement are not only economic but also can make full use of column material. In compression zone bolt force of end-plate connections distribut triangularly, when designing calculating the force model can be referred .The paper deeply analyses the behavior of end-plate minor-axis connection under load, the conlusion provides valuable information and reference for guiding design of engineering and exploring new type nodes.This makes a favorable base for perfectting structure theory and analyzing the seismic behavior of steel frame structure.
