| This paper analyses the physical and mechanical properties of high liquid limit clay embeddedly, provides different improving construction projects under the local states. By some interior tests studies, the shear strength, CBR value and unconfined compression strength of improved high liquid limit clay are correspondingly advanced, the paving engineering specifications of it reach the orders of high grading pavement embankment filling, and by locate tests the results of interior tests are more validated.The thesis analyses the economic efficiencies of different improvement programs combining the local price and the hauling charge of the building materials. The results show that the cost of adding 25% grit is slightly less than the cost of adding 50% superior earth, and is equivalent with the cost of adding 4% lime or concrete.To insure the improving effects of high liquid limit clay performances ,in the construction process, there are following orders: for low expansion high liquid limit clay, use the technologies such as enhancing compactive effort, wrapping closing dike , three-dimensional suspended webs to plant grasses and so on; foe high liquid limit clay with high moisture content, firstly air-dry to fall the moisture content, then fill and roll, when it is can not air-dry, must replace soil or improve technology; under construction avoid rainy season at full steam and build temporary drainage system; choose fit rolling machines and construction technology, strengthen locate examination, in order to assure construction quality. |
