With the development of economics and the improvement of social living standard, now car ownership has been ranked fourth in the world. Some cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou have long been infested car. In order to solve urban traffic congestion, Large-scale road building in the city came into being, and so many cars have brought noise pollution inevitably. Urban road traffic noise pollution has become increasingly serious in China's cities and it has become a public hazard in the environment, seriously affecting the normal life and the physical and mental health of urban residents. How to effectively reduce noise pollution in the vicinity of the road have become the world's hot spots and also an important issue waiting to be resolved.This paper mainly makes a study of noise reduction on the road. I have given a general outline of the current state of the traffic noise and the Noise hazards and the low noise road's development at home and abroad. Then I described the noise and vibration reduction principle of low noise road. Using Reverberation chamber to test the absorption coefficient is more accurate. Due to the area of Marshall sample which made by Asphalt mixture is small and the standard area of Reverberation chamber absorption coefficient testing required is larger, I have researched the impact of sample area in reverberation chamber test for absorption coefficient, to find out the relationship between the absorption coefficient and the sample area and confirm the minimum sample area, facilitate to the absorption coefficient tests in laboratory. Through the basic test of low noise road's materials properties and the research on materials of Modified Asphalt and in accordance with the initial Grading product Marshall sample and calculate the size of Porosity, if the size didn't meet the requirements, then adjust the grading. Design the best Mix Proportion of Asphalt mixture and confirm optimum asphalt content, then product Marshall Sample. Test the sample's Mechanical Properties and product Marshall Sample which meet the requirements, then use the Standing Wave Tube to take Marshall's absorption coefficient and to find out the best materials of low noise road.
