Vitrified microsphere insulation mortar is a new type building insulation mortar which developed in recent years, with having the advantages of well workability,high intensity,better weather resistance,anti-aging,fire prevention. But because the vitrified microsphere we use of which much exists on the defects of high dry density and bad insulation effect, so we take some measures which include component material selection,composite the aggregate and gradation,studying performance optimization and so on, deeply analysing kinds of factors which influence on the physical and mechanical properties of vitrified microsphere insulation mortar, making use of orthogonal experiment to optimize the composition materials of insulation mortar, and exploring the modify and action theory of main additional substance.The result show that: aggregate content> gradation and composite aggregate have important impact to the insulation and mechanical properties of vitrified microsphere insulation mortar. If we increase the aggregate volum, its dry density will decrease, the mortar's insulation property will increase, but both its mechanical property and workability are lower; Adding fly ash in the mortar can reduce its dry density and manufacturing costs; air mixing agent can further reduce the mortar's dry density, improve its insulation property, at the same time also improve the mobility of mortar; but if add excess, it will make the water and viscosity drop, the suitable content is about 0.4 percent; the condition of conservation has biger influence on vitrified microsphere insulation mortar, but has little influence on its dry density, the experiment which adopt the standard condition is the best to strength of insulation mortar.Latex powders can significantly improve the workability of mortar, increase its bond strength, low the radio of compress and bond, improve crack resitance, but little effect on the compressive strength. Comprehensively consider the properties and cost of mortar, the amount to about two percent for the best. Cellulose ethers can raise caking, improve water conserve property, mix a little can get well workability, the actual configuration can be mixing in the range of 0.4 to 0.5 percent. The orthogonal test results show that: the most influential raw materials factors to mortar insulation properties followed by aggregate,fly ash,polypropylene fiber and latex powder; the most influential factor followed by aggregate,fly ash,latex powder and polypropylene fiber; the proper mix proportion is that both aggregate and cementing materials ratio is 1.8:1, the amount of fly ash to replace cement is 50 percent, polypropylene fiber is 0.1 percent, latex powder is 3 percent, cellulose ethers is 0.5 percent, air mixing agent is 0.4 percent.Combine the expanded perlite and vitrified microsphere into composite aggregate, which can optimize the aggregate gradation, reduce gap between the aggregate, so enhance the insulation and strength, and improve the water resistance,antifreeze and weather resistance. When the ratio of the expanded perlite replaced vitrified microsphere is 50 percent, the mechanical property and durability of mortar are the best; when the ratio is 30 percent, it has the best insulation effect; when the ratio is from 30 to 50 percent, it has best crack resistance.
