Power system dynamic simulation experiments is a method which specialized in studying power system. Using the simulation of power system can deal with verifying new theory and new device which can not be tested in actual system. The generator dynamic simulation intrudued by this paper is a synthesis experiment system based on high automation simulation generator operation of modern electrical power system. It reflects the whole process of electric energy transmission and realizes the detection, control, monitoring, protection and dispatch automation of power system.On the basis of considering the characteristic and function of system, the paper introduce a innovative integrated control pattern "PLC+HMI" which is fit for experiment system. It uses programmable Controller S7-200 as a main role and control core and MT506 touch screen as Human-Machine Interface. It uses modularization idea to design software programming. The whole system has high reliability, simple operation and flexible control.In the part of prime dynamotor simulation, the technique of armature current feedback plus speed feedback is adopted to alter the mechanical character of the DC electromotor. Programmable Controller S7-200 plays a main role in the excitation equipment of generator with using SCR excitation system simulation program. The paper designs the main loop and control circuit diagram of system on the basis of describing the principle of the simulation of dynamotor system. This thesis deals with the design of the PLC-based excitation controller's hardware. Furthermore the part of software design details flow diagram of automatic opening and parking. It also can be carried out data exchange between PLC and touch screen by using macro command function. Then, automatic quasi-synchronization device and relaying protection equipment are introduced. In the last step of designing this system, using configuration software, Freeport communication and Modbus protocol, the dispatch automation and operation maintenance of dynamic simulation laboratory is set up based monitoring function in sub-station.At last, experiment results show that it can better control the self-balance characteristic of prime mover governor and synchronous generator excitation system simulation. The control precision , reliability and stability of the whole system have been improved greatly. The various kinds of parameters may meet the anticipated design requirement in the scheme and it has better performance price ratio and popularized application prospect.
