The vehicle suspension system is a connecting device, which transmit various force and torque between body and tire. The vehicle suspension system is consisted of spring,damper,oriented framework and anti-roll bar, which perform the functions of shock-absorbing, guiding and amending lateral stiffness. As the most important system in vehicle chassis, the performance of suspension has direct influence of vehicle performance.The characteristics about kinematics of suspension are briefly introduced, and the suspension's influence on the vehicle performance also is introduced in this paper. There are some factors and parameters that have impact on vehicle handing stability, whose parameters' changes trends and scope are researched. The methods for the analysis on suspension kinematics include: simulation analysis methods and test-bed testing methods, which were also introduced in the thesis.As a new style vehicle suspension, five-link suspension is widely used by its preponderant performance. The paper changed the configuration of the original double-wishbone suspension, designed an improved double-wishbone suspension. Then the paper brings forward a design method of five-link suspension according to its unique performance. After building three suspensions models in ADAMS, the moving equations of five-link suspension at time- displacement input were analyzed. The movement stability of rear five-link suspension was proved by the analysis between the other two suspensions, which based on research methods of suspension performance in this thesis.The improvement analysis of five-link suspension aims at the change of suspension stiffness during tires movement. The paper did sensitivity analysis of construction point to suspension stiffness by ADAMS/Insight. After improvement design, the right coordinate values were confirmed. The hole vehicle simulation contains three rear suspension models, including original double-wishbone suspension,five-link suspension before optimization,five-link suspension after optimization. After simulations of whole vehicle steady state performance based on ISO standard, the paper elicits that the vehicle with rear five-link suspension will get better stead state performance.
