This paper analyzes the strength and stiffness of M2S bodyshell, then summarizes the results of the analysis. This paper discusses a method of lighenting design in structure based on M2S vehicle body. It deals with dimensional optimum structural design, engineering topological optimization and shape optimization design. The main courses are as follows:1 Built FE model of M2S vehicle bodyConsidering the complexity of the bodyshell, after simplify it properly, FE model is built.2 The strength and stiffness analysisAccording to the standard EN12663, the strength analyses are calculated for 10 typical working conditions. It is summarized for characteristics of bodyshell's stresses distribution and structure designing. This paper analyses the influence of bodyshell parts' the rigidity variation on the strength and stiffness of bodyshell. The strength and stiffness analysis are underpinned by optimal design.3 Optimization of underframe of M2S vehicle bodyThe paper makes optimum structural design with the software of OptiStruct. First, there is size optimization in a group-based project based on continuous sizing variables and discrete sizing variables. Then it deals with engineering topological optimization and shape optimization design based on size optimization. Finally, verify the optimum result.
