The product and reservation of tower crane have been increased greatly, while the number of the accident is rising at the same time. To better evaluate the safety situation of the tower crane with faster and easier methods, this paper provides a safety management and evaluation system for tower crane based on web and short message technology.The tower crane can be used in wide region for a long operating time. The traditional method used to evaluate the safety situation is only useful to single tower crane and hard to realize the unified evaluation towards large scales of tower cranes. The system in this thesis utilizes the advantages of web, short message and finite element technology to realize the safety evaluation with all time and all regions. The main work and results are as follows:1. Based on the fatigue analyzing theory, the parameter of fatigue life is chosen as the evaluating criterion for the safety evaluation of tower crane in the paper.2. With the advantage of transmitting in all time and all regions, short message is adopted as the transmitting method to save in-time data in the system, which is also regarded as the evidence for fatigue life calculation.3. Web platform is used to input data and publicize the results of safety evaluation in the system.4. The method of parametric modeling is used to abstract the structure of tower crane. APDL and C# are also used to build the finite element model and develop the whole system.5. The finite element model, short message data, and the S-N curves of the materials are used to compute the fatigue life of the tower crane.6. The disadvantages and extensions of the system are presented.At last, the whole system is operated and tested and the results prove that the system has realized the proposed target, and fulfill the designing requirements.
