The prerequisite of fault diagnosis is to get the information characters of the equipment failure as far as possible, failure characters of information extraction and separation is one of the key issues. This paper will make independent component analysis (ICA) algorithm applied to gear vibration signal processing to explore the extraction and separation methods of fault feature and finish the following main tasks. The article will target at gear assembly of mechanical devices, aim at the failure mechanism of the key component of the gear assembly gear to set the parameters of fault monitoring, analysis the fault characteristics of gear assembly, design the overall program of the gearbox fault diagnosis system. In the research of extraction and separation methods of failure characteristic information, the article will use a key focus of blind signal processing independent component to analysis the algorithm principle, the algorithm characteristics and the objective function, use MATLAB software to simulate ICA algorithm, use Lab VIEW software to develop signal acquisition system of the gear assembly vibration, only to achieve data acquisition, display, analysis and storage functions. On the basis of the above-mentioned work, set the type reducer JZQ200 as the object of fault diagnosis, build a fault diagnosis test bed, apply signal acquisition system to get vibration signals, and use ICA algorithm to separate vibration signals of the gearbox, the results indicate that Fault information becomes clarity after the separation by ICA, in additional, the precision of fault diagnosis can be improved to get more effective realization of fault diagnosis.
