In this paper, the research of the charge&protection circuit of lithium ion power battery is based on development of electric power motor and situation of research in abroad.Firstly, discuss situation of research of the charge&protection circuit of lithium ion power battery in abroad, introduce lithium ion power battery and it's management system. Secondly, this article closely with the functional requirements and technical indicators of small and medium-sized power tools battery power management system, carried out the whole system hardware program, described various parts of the circuit topology and function. For meet the requirements of high power factor and implementation of advanced charge control strategy, the system add active power factor correction circuit before switching power part. Introduce the functional unit of the working principle and design of EMC in charge of the design part, as well to some of the major circuit components and chips selection process in detail. Introduce the implementation methods of various protection in protection of the design part. Create own method on the calculation of remaining capacity, and implement communication inter system use of SMBus.
