The research of load transferring characters of piles is concerned by geotechnical engineers. To study the mechanism of the load transferring characters is very significance.The thesis discusses the factors that affect the bearing capacity and the load transferring of foundation. The calculation for bearing capacity and displacement of foundation is more complicated than the one for nature foundation because there are complicated problems which affected by much factors. But due to the empirical coefficient selected for adjusting the calculation, the selection of parameter, the localization of empirical formulas and other influencing factors etc ,the calculation according to the methods which recommended by Code for Design of Building Foundation and Code for Technology of Building Pile Foundation is greater or smaller than the realities.Based on summarization of the subsistent methods include the elasticity theory method, shearing displacement formulation, load transfer method etc and the analysis of the calculation methods for axial bearing capacity and settlement of single piles, the dissertation selects an improved model (base on tri-broken line model). Moreover the merits and faults among the methods are given in this dissertation.The researches are concentrated on the load transferring mechamsm and pile characters under axial compressive load which include pile skin friction development; axial force along pile shaft; factors affect the characters of load-settlement curve etc.The thesis analyzes the mechanism and influencing factors of bearing capacity about foundation and piles minutely. The axis force distributing along pile shaft, the distributing and exerting of friction along with the time or load or relative displacement between pile and soil is studied by analyzing the load transferring mechanism of piles. The axial load is fixed on by forecast pile cap settlement, for each settlement value S, with contrasting the static load test results, the axial load computed by the method of this thesis tally with the actual measurement load. The method also has a fast convergent speed. It could have an approving answer by iterated once.The model selected by the dissertation is validated by using an office block engineering at Xi'an. To contrast field results, the calculation of load on pile tally with the Q~s curve and have a fast convergent speed. So, the method recommended by the dissertation which has a good practice merit could supervise practice engineering.
