Anti-lock braking system (ABS) is a main technology to improve the vehicle active safety. With the enhancement of traveling speed and increasing of density of vehicle flow, and ABS is producing and developing under the condition of the requirement of a higher and higher performance of traveling safety.In this thesis, the development history and the research and development statue in our country are summarized. The structure and working principle are introduced. And the control process and control methods used at present are compared and analyzed.The vehicle mathematic models of braking behavior, including whole vehicle model, semi-vehicle model and quarter vehicle are set up. And the load on the wheels while vehicle braking is analyzed. The magic formula tire model and the double linear model are given. The quarter vehicle simulation model is setup under Matlab/Simulink environment.The basic theory of fuzzy control method is introduced in detail. The PID control, fuzzy control and self-adaptive fuzzy PID control method are put forward. The simulation is carried out by using the quarter vehicle model and the control methods. The simulation results are compared and analyzed. The result shows that the control methods have get a well control effect to anti-lock braking system...
