This paper introduced the Variable-focus liquid lens'development, application and the current research results, analyzed contact angle, introduced measurements of OTF, measured MTF with the method of spectrum contrast, obtained the contour of the liquid lens with the method of image processing, analyzed the effect of gravity on the imaging quality of the liquid lens.The main contents are as follows:(1) Setting up a simple variable-focus liquid lens and testing its ability. Setting up a kinds of variable-focus liquid lens whose radii is 6mm. Test its ability by taking pictures with the lens.(2) Obtained the contour of the liquid lens with the method of image processing, fitted the contour with polynomial, analyzed the relation between liquid volume and contour changes, investigated optical properties of the liquid lens with optical software ZEMAX.(3) Investigated the measurement of MTF based on spectrum contrast. Calculated the contrast of frequency components by respectively taking Fourier Transform of the object and image'light intensity, obtained MTF of the system by calculating the contrast.The key achievements are as follows:(1) Getting the counter of lens by image processing. (2) Proposed a new method of OPT measurement.(3) Analyzed the effect of gravity on the variable-focus liquid.
