High-voltage circuit breaker is large-scale electric power equipment second only to generator and transformer in electric power system preliminary equipment. When system works normally, it plays a role of controlling. When the equipment and lines have faults, the high-voltage circuit breaker, which plays the role in protecting, could quickly cut off the fault. When it does not work fine, it will cause electric power accidents, which will cause tremendous economic losses. So, on-line monitor research for high-voltage circuit breaker has great significance in economy and technology.In this paper, the theory about on-line monitoring of high-voltage circuit breaker is firstly discussed. Then the method of how to calculate arcing time and electric life by using Mayr arc model and Cassie model is introduced in detail. Fuzzy synthetic evaluation model is designed for fault diagnosis to find out running state of high-voltage circuit breaker.Secondly, the hardware for monitoring high-voltage circuit breaker working condition based on TMS320F2812 is designed. Data acquisition unit and the computer are linked by RS485.Lastly, the software for data-acquisition unit is designed. The part of the theory about on-line working condition monitoring research for high-voltage circuit breaker are researched, the part of the design of the hardware and the software are completed.
