In the railroad cargo traffic process, we meet lots of problems, such as finding out whether the cargo is overloaded, or the cargo is over-height and so on, so finding them out is important to guarantee the traffic safety, therefore it is regarded as one of the most effective measures for ensuring the transportation security. At present, because of the unitary method and the crude equipment, we have to rely on manual ways to compute the level of overloading goods, it has to deal with a massive calculations, and it has a high error ratio, what is more, the efficiency is low, so it lacks a effective detection to control the cargo condition in the train movement, so it is extremely urgent to find out an advanced equipment to ensure the traffic safety.In order to solve the problem which exists in the present cargo safety equipment, this article designs a kind of over-height detection system's control terminal, including the hardware system platform and system software's construction and do some research in the improvement on the system's real-time performance. This paper first expounds the whole project design of the train over-height detection system, and the principle of the system realization, then it carried on to the realization of the systems control terminal, which includes two parts: hardware design and software design. The hardware designs of the system included at91rm9200 and the design of memory system, kinds of interface circuit, and power circuit, as well as sensor interface circuit design. The software part designs software of the control terminal system, including the transplants of the Boot loader and the Linux system, and the fabrication of filesystem, as well as the question which will encounter in the system debugging process. Finally, this article, used the xenomai technology to make some improvements to the embedded Linux system's real-time performance, enabled the ordinary Linux system to meet the general industry controller's request of real-time.
