Lots of researches on the settlement deformation of the soft soil foundation, while many questions haven't been solved perfectly. Combining soft soil treatment entity projects of HeiBei Yan-Hai express way, the plastic drainage plate with surcharge preloading in the soft soil treatment was studied. Firstly, the factors of the geological engineering circumstance, the height of subgrade fillers and the treatment form being considered synthetically, the experiment observation position and measurement was determinated at the T5 and T6 section. And the kind of the apparatus, the embedded location and the cautions of the observations were introduced. Secondly, based on analyzing the achievement of experiment observation, the soil foundation settlement along with the soil-filled height was studied, the settlement variation laws between the central road and the both shoulder, and the settlement difference varied with the soil-filled height, the regulation of the lateral displacement along with the deepness, and the variation laws of the pore water pressures in the subgrade-filled process were also studied. Finally, based on the date gathered from field observation, the coefficient for soil settlement was calculated by the Hyperbola Method, and the result is compared with the result calculated from the empirical formula in the current standards which verifies the accuracy of the coefficient for soil settlement through the measurement data; Using the inversed the coefficient for soil settlement as calculative parameter and considering the affect on the settlement after-construction from the surcharge preloading, the settlement after-construction of the surcharge preloading embankment was predicted relative accurately and proved that the predicted settlement after-construction meet closely to the engineering practice.
