Wagon flow organization at marshalling station is not only the key to making the daily operation plan of station but the basis of the wagon flow organization on the railway network. The advantages and disadvantages of its organizational effectiveness impact directly on the work performance of the marshalling station, the organizational effectiveness of wagon flow on the railway network and the operation plan of freight trains. In this thesis, by referencing on some papers at home and abroad, combing the status of the wagon flow organization with its present research results, I put the emphases on optimizing the method allocating the departure wagon flows at marshalling station, on determining the favourate sorting sequence of the arriving and departing train stock, on reasonably organizing the loading and unloading processes according to the train schedule and optimizing the wagon fetching and delievering plan. The research results are as flows:(1) The organization of wagon flow in the process of the railway traffic and transportation management is systematic analyzed, and the wagon flows at marshalling station are divided into the loading and unloading wagon flows and the transfer wagon flows, so that the wagon flow organization methods can also be divided into two types for its different properties. In addition, the relationship between the wagon flow organization at mashalling station and the freight train formation plan is that of operating action and guiding plan. The relationship between wagon flow organization at station and on railway network is that of the small-scale microstructure and large-scale macrostructure.(2) The method to calculate the wagon flow sources for the departure train at marshalling station is optimized. On the basis of the current method to calculate the wagon flow source during making the phase plan at marshalling station, the departure wagon flow allocating problem are combined with the train stock sorting sequence problem, which makes the calculating process more reasonable and practical. Then, with the train departing on time and the gross weight being up to the standard taken as the goal, the corresponding model of the wagon flow allocating and the model of the train stock sorting sequence are established respectively. In this way, not only the difficulty of solving the problem is redued but also the rational internal realationship between them is ensured. At last, through the data of a shift from Lanzhouxi Station, the application of the method is verified.(3) The current method to calculate the wagon flows in the process of making the train working plan by the planning dispatcher in railway bureau is summarized. The shortage of the current method that the fundational wagon flows of the next day are not taken into consideration is pointed out; then the theoretical basis of determining the numbers of the fundational wagon flows is given, which makes the plan dispatcher's wagon flow calculating results more accurate and practical in the process of making the train working plan, so as to formulate more feasible plan.(4) To improve the arrangement of loading and unloading operations on train schedule at mashalling station, the significance and requirements of arranging loading and unloading operation on train schedule are analyzed, and the organzation method of loading or unloading vehivles on the train schedule is mainly studied. On the basis of the study of the loading and unloading operation organization procedure at freight yard (or freight station), in comes to a conclusion that the emphasis should be put on the demands of the departing trains when arranging the feright operations, the time and contents of the freight operations must coordinated with the train departing plan of the marshalling station.(5) The method of fetching and delievering wagons is studied, and the differences of the methods making the wagon fetching and delievering plan for the random arrival wagon flows and the through wagon flows are analyzed. For the random arrival wagon flows, the research emphasis is put on determining the frequence of fetching and delievering operations, the reasonable time and the contents of the fetching and delievering operations. As to the through wagon flows, for different fetching and delievering sequence may lead to different wagon staying time at station and the comprehensive operation costs, so the research emphasis is put on optimizing the fetching and delievering method. Then targeting at the minimum costs of the operation wagons and the shunting locomotive, the model based on time window of fetching and delievering wagon is established. At last, the methods are discussed to coordinate the wagon fetching and delivering plan with the freight operations and the train formation.The wagon flow organization at marshalling yard involves many operation links which effect each other and have some complicated relationship。With the principles of wagon flow operation being understood more deeply and the research methods being improved, the more practical and effective mathematical methods will be put forward, which will tightly connect the wagon flow organization at marshalling yard and that on the railway network to perfect the theory making the railway transport dispatching daily and shift plan, to promote the progress of railway transport management.
