With the technology, society and economy development, human face the two great challenges of energy shortage and environmental pollution aggravating. As a major energy consumer, the traditional vehicle leads to serious environment pollution. Therefore, it is impressive for the new energy vehicle technology research. The fuel cell vehicle is a world hot topic, which has the characters of zero-emission and energy-saving. Meanwhile, because of the hydrogen gas' flammability and explosion, the safety of fuel cell vehicles has also aroused the social concern. In sum, the development of fuel cell vehicle security technology becomes an important topic in the process of industrialization. The fuel cell vehicles safety includes three aspects, which are hydrogen safety, electric safety and structural safety. This paper mainly focus on the structural safety problem of the hydrogen system.This paper researched on the hydrogen system with two methods: one is Crash test, the other is system simulation. Through researching the vehicle test codes and hydrogen safety specification at home and abroad, this paper has drawn up the test methods of hydrogen system and how to evaluation the safety of hydrogen system. Hydrogen system is installed on the trolley according the on Fuel Cell Bus. According to the methods, relay on State Key Laboratory of Automotive Safety and Energy of Tsinghua University, this paper has first test the hydrogen system crash test in China. On the principle of the details and goals in hydrogen system crash test, and the conditions on crash test, this paper establishes a FEA model based on the Finite Element technology by the way of Hypermesh and LS_DYNA software for the Crash test.This research used the acceleration and the stress data, which are from the important parts of hydrogen system sensors. Through the analysis of solenoid valve's reliability, stress curve of the fixtures, etc, this paper has certificated the Crash safety of the hydrogen system. By the way of utilizing the comparison between the test and simulation data in acceleration and the stress, this paper has verified the reliability of the FEA model. Moreover, this paper has find out the largest stress area in the fixture. Furthermore, this paper has provided a reference for the further research in improving the model other key parts analysis such as cylinder displacement, the stress curve of the cylinder nozzle, etc.
