Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) forecasting in modern electrical engineering has become more and more important to the designers and the researchers with the wide application of all kinds of electronic circuits and power electronics technologies. In EMC design to equipment and system, metallic enclosure is widely used to shield from electromagnetic interference. Because of the needs for such various reasons as input and output connections, ventilation panels, etc, the apertures or slots inevitably exist on the conducting shield. These apertures or slots are the main factor to influence the shielding performance of system. So understanding the intensity and the feature of the electromagnetic field produced by leaking through the apertures is very important for EMC design. The following works have been done:1. Simulate the electromagnetic interference of the switching-mode power supply (SMPS), Analyze the feature of the electromagnetic field produced by SMPS and figure out its equivalent radiate source which is used as excitation signal in the EMC simulation of the metallic enclosure.2. Simulate the EMC of the metallic enclosure several times in different ways, validate the feasibility of the technique such as the conjecture about distance, the electromagnetic symmetry plane, etc. And find a solution to the difficulty of the simulation about the big electrically size object.3. Rebuild the metallic enclosure mode with the techniques which have been validated by a series of simulations. Figure out the EMC of the enclosure by comparing the result of the simulation with the martial standard(RE101 and RE102 in GJB151A-97) at different frequency.4. According to the electromagnetic-shield effectiveness of the enclosure, optimize its configuration by fixing conductive rubber and electromagnetic shielding window which is the most adaptable to it by comparing with other electromagnetic-shield equipment in order to advance its EMC. And make the metallic enclosure pass the martial standard(RE101 and RE102 in GJB151A-97).
