The evaluation indexes for power performance and fuel-economy were introduced. The simulation methods were generalized to the indexes, the evaluation indexes system for power performance and fuel- economy were given.The urban driving cycle curve was built basing on the experimentation datum, which the building theory is the ECE (Economic Commission for Europe)cycle method. Based on the curve the evaluation index for power performance and fuel- economy can be offered. And the test was performed according to the curve, compared the simulated fuel consumption to the real test fuel consumption the result shown the building condition is perfect.The parameters for bus's transmission system were optimized in this paper. To the optimization method, the design theory is genetic algorithm, the optimization has two different objects which are the driving power lost-ratio base on gear efficiency and fuel consumption per 100km, the two objects were combined to a united object function according to the line weighted method, so the mathematical model was built.Based on the mentioned theories before, using the development software such as MATLAB, EXCEL and VB, the two models were built which are the simulation model to the bus's performance and the optimization model to the transmission system. And the experimentation was performed at the same time. Comparing the simulation result to the experimentation result which show that the mathematical model is right. The influence to the power performance and the fuel-economy with the change of the transmission system's parameters has been analyzed.
