The research on noise and vibration control in the vehicle design process has become very important, because the customers pay more and more attention to the NVH performance. The critical step of noise and vibration control is how to integrate vibrational performance of components and assemblies. This paper mainly deals with how to arrange and match modal frequencies. The main contents are as follows:(1) Systematically summarizes the NVH performance subjective evaluation targets, the NVH test items of benchmark vehicle, and the CAE analysis items related to NVH; lists the system targets and cascades to sub-system.(2) Study modal performance which is one of the most important targets of NVH; expatiate on the modal tests of benchmark vehicle NVH tests; introduce modal frequencies layout table; bring forward the modal matching strategy and process.(3) Draw up the modal frequencies layout table of a new car under development; analyze the modes of sub-systems such as body-in-white, inner acoustic cavity, the steering system, the suspension system and the driving system; optimize some of them according to the strategy mentioned above.
