Polycarboxylic acid-based superplasticizer was synthesized through free radical copolymerization in the reports of other researchers in last few decads. In our paper, we used a new method, atom transfer radical polymerization(ATRP), to produce polycarboxylic acid-based superplasticizer. T8-PSStNa-PAANa-PMMA was synthesized by ATRP. And then, it was treated by transesterification with methoxy polyethylene glycol(MPEG). The structure of polycarboxylic acid-based superplasticizer was studied by FT-IR and 1H-NMR. The main contents of this dissertation consist following points:1. PSStNa-PAANa was synthesized by the mehod of ATRP with 2-bromopropionate as initiator in aqueous media at room temperature with different times. then, we studied on performance versus reaction times, and found the best reaction time in this Experimental research..2. Synthesis PSStNa-PAANa-PMMA with the product that synthesis on preceding step as the initiator. Then Transesterification of PSStNa-PAANa-PMMA with methoxy polyethylene glycol(MPEG) to polycarboxylic acid-based superplasticizer by p-toluene sulphonic acid. At last we studied on performance versus reaction times again.3. Now, we used T8-POSS-Cl as initiator to synthesis T8-PSStNa-PAANa with atom transfer radical polymerization in ethylene glycol. Then we investigate the performance versus reaction times to find the product which has the best performance as catalyst for the next step.4. Based on the product that synthesized on preceding step, we synthesis T8-PSStNa-PAANa-PMMA. And the final produces were obtained after the transesterification of T8-PSStNa-PAANa-PMMA with methoxy polyethylene glycol(MPEG).
