In recent years, It is fact that demand for wood product has been increasing with increasing population of the world which adversely influencing the sustainable utilization of forest resources, environmental problems and recycling issues are being discussed with more popularity in sociality. Recovering waste material from used Paper-plastic package to manufacture a value-added product with an economical and efficient method is an important issue from the perspective of environmental pollution.Throughout the thermal compression process, the used Paper-plastic package are treated in such a way no other toxic adhesives are needed. The purposes of our study were to find alternative means of utilizing such a resource and to examine the properties of products made from it. Research results are summed up as follows:1. In this thesis, We investigated the properties of composite board formed using Paper-plastic package as raw material, and the effects of temperature, time and specific gravities were discussed. The modulus of rupture, modulus of elasticity, internal bonding strengths and thickness swelling of the specimens were determined to examine their properties. We found that the modulus of rupture, modulus of elasticity, and internal bonding strengths of Paper-plastic particleboard increased significantly with board specific gravity. The optimum processing parameters for recycled paper-plastic composites is the densities of 1.1 g/cm-3 by weight, a hot-pressing temperature of 180℃for 500S.2. In the study we prepared particleboards by mixing particles of low density polyethylene (LDPE) and Paper-plastic package in different content with different temperature.Subsequently, we conducted tests of static bending strength, internal bond strength, and thickness swelling to evaluate the effects of different LDPE content and temperature on the particleboards. The specimens mixed particleboards had better mechanical properties and water resistance than those of the specimens made with Paper-plastic package. At the same, the properties of LDPE—Paper-plastic package particleboards were affected by the temperature. The modulus of rupture (MOR), modulus of elasticity (MOE),and internal bond strength of the LDPE—Paper-plastic package particleboards increased with temperature at the same LDPE content.3. The experimental LDPE—Paper-plastic package particleboards containers having approximately 60% Paper-plastic package ,40% low density polyethylene (LDPE),Both physical and mechanical properties of the samples resulted in satisfactory values meeting requirements stated in GB/T4897.1—2003 for OSB.Based on the findings of this study, we deemed that Paper-plastic package can be made into composite boards with adequate properties either alone or mixed with low density polyethylene (LDPE) particles.
