Soil slope stability analysis is involved in the geotechnic engineering and it is always performed by Limit equlibrium method. But it is difficult to locate the critical slip surface.During the homogeneous soil slope, the traditional method could find the global minimum factor of safety. However, facing the complicated soil slopes,it is important to find a method to locate the critical slip surface, due to local minimum factor of safety. The particle swarms complex method intrdduced in the paper, can dap the local minimum facter of safety. At the same time, compare with the basic complex method,it is similarly rapid and effective. Finally, the particle swarms complex method is validated by the example of complicated soil slopes. In this paper, taking two classical slopes as example, the simpleness BISHOP method is used to find the minimum facter of safety by the basic complex method, the improved complex method and particle swarms complex method. On the face of the result, the minimum facter of the slopes as such as Zou Guangdian. At the same time, the result using the method of improved complex method is less than the facter with the basic complex method. In conclusion, the particle swarms complex method can find the minimum facter of safety the most effectivelly, with the coefficient w equaling 0.5 as a rule. Finally, the particle swarms complex method is used to analyze seismic stability of Qi Zong core wall type rockfill Dam,Nuo Zhadu core wall type rockfill Dam and Chang Heba core wall type rockfill Dam.During the engineering practice, the non-linear and linear paoperty of the dam are used in the slope stability analysis. From the result, the critical slip surface is lower and the fatter of safety is less with linear property than non-linear property.
