For a long time, the bridges across main lines of channels, have been designed in reference to common river-crossing bridges and ignored their own personalities, which may lead to a scandalous waste of funds. As a result, study the design of fairway bridges and landscape, effectively guarantee underbridge traffic capacity, make the minimum size and save construction cost, are all of great theoretical and practical significance.The slant-legged rigid frame bridge without abutment is a bridge type developed in recent years. On the base of traditional slant-legged rigid frame bridge, this kind of bridge makes a withdrawal of abutment connected with embankment, adds lateral diagonal brace with the same inclination as bank slope, transfers beam load to bridge pier. Its main beam of main span is press bending member and slant leg can increase the bridge span, so its span can reach 1.6 times that of continuous beam. Moreover, when bridge needs overcrossing embankment, suspended beam can reduce overall height on the base of assuring the enough clearance under bridge and then decrease the scale of bridge construction.Lightweight suspended beam can choose three kinds of material: HSLWC,alloy steel (namely steel structure),macromolecule newmaterial--fibre-reinforced material (that is FRP). The plan of suspended beam canbe used in area of girder bridges and may be better for the slant-legged rigid frame bridge without abutment because it can not only save the building cost but also increase bridge span. For these reasons, the slant-legged rigid frame bridge without abutment gain stronger market competitiveness in the developent of long span.Using the high strength,light weight,anticorrosion fatigue and resistant characteristics of FRP, study the slant-legged rigid frame bridge without abutment, more specifically, turn suspended beam made of combination box girder to the slant-legged rigid frame bridge without abutment. Based on the general conclusion of reseach and application of the FRP concrete composite girder, according to documents, propose FRP concrete composite girder design section profiles suited to a certain project case, through finite element and failure mode analysis, combine the specification, determine application feasibility of the FRP concrete composite girder.Results show that this FRP concrete composite girder can meet actual project's requirements and be used directly for the slant-legged rigid frame bridge without abutment.Furthermore, in favour of reducing the height of bridge, decrease the scale of construction, save the building cost, all of which offer theoretical foundation and technical support for FRP concrete composite girder used in bridge constructure and the slant-legged rigid frame bridge without abutment in the devlopment of long span.
