| HVDC Light has been exploited based on the development of full-control power electronic devices.The technology is realized by employing Voltage Source Converter(VSC) and squeeze-type cable as main components.Because of a high degree of flexibility and controllable characteristics,VSC-HVDC primarily finds its application in the field of renewable energy distributed generation,supplying of isolated loads, infeeding to city centers,asynchronous network interconnection and other fields.In renewable energy,wind energy has been the fastest-growing energy in power system because of its availability of large capacity.But the integration of wind generation to power grid can bring many power quality problems because of the randomicity and intermittence of wind energy.In this dissertation,a group of electromagnetic models and quasi steady state models have been built for VSC HVDC and wind generation.Voltage fluctuations and flicks which are the most concerned power quality problems in wind generation are studied systematically.Simulation and analysis have shown the improvement in power quality by employing VSC-HVDC for the integration of wind generation.A Real Time Digital Simulation(RTDS) model has been also built for the development and test of VSC-HVDC controller.. |
