It is important for the safety design of liquid metal cooled fast breeder reactor(LMFBR) to assure stable flow of coolant. When long period earthquake happens, the fluid may impact the coping of vessel and make the reactor dangerous, the coolant flow in the reactor may induce the sloshing of free surface. Both of them may have a influence in the safe operation of the reactor. The phenomenon on sloshing response of the free surface in the main vessel of fast reactor excited by 3 sine waves is simulated by moving particle semi-implicit(MPS) method. The impact pressure from this research have provided important loadings for the integrality analysis of the main vessel. The MPS method is further developed with an inlet and outlet boundary to simulate the second phenomenon. The present simulation is validated by comparison with an experimental result and a computational result given by another method. The range of application using MPS method is extended to a certain degree.
