Research On The Multi-Functions Fault Current Limiter Based On VSC

The growth of electric power consumption has resulted in a corresponding development of power system;in addition,the requirement for the stability of the large system has increased.With the development of power electronic technology,the Multi-Functions Fault Current Limiter based on VSC that could limit the fault current and also make compensation is more flexible and practical when compared to the others.This paper summarizes some existing technologies of fault current limner at home and abroad and puts forward a type of fault current limiter with based on VSC.The main circuit topology of 10kV/2MVA FCL is given with the single-phase and three-phase,and the details of its working principle.In this study,using PSCAD software simulates the FCL system.Simulation results verified the correction and validity of presented control strategy and algorithm.Optimized topology and parameter are supplied for the research and exploitation of physical model.400V/100kVA FCL physics experiment platform development and physics experiments are carried out.At last,there is a summarization of the paper and the trend of FCL based on VSC study is predicted.
