Grouting is one of the most common construction methods in water conservancy and hydropower project, which includes the consolidation grouting, curtain grouting and contact grouting, and so on. In recent years, the concrete face rockfill dam is a common type of dam in water conservancy and hydropower project, and consolidation grouting and curtain grouting of this type dam are generally carried out on the toe slab. During the construction process of grouting, the toe slab is generally uplifted, or even likely to produce cracks in the toe slab, which seriously affect the integrity and the impermeable capacity of the concrete face rockfill dam. For the future in order to provide the theory basis and the solution for the toe slab grouting of this kind of project to improve the quality of grouting, it is necessary to study of uplifting mechanism of toe slab grouting.In this paper, in order to explore the uplifting mechanism for dam toe slab grouting, first of all, introducing the several kind of grouting theories and the flow law and the diffusion radius of the serous in the fracture, also elaborating mechanism for grouting, thus this make us have an in-depth understanding for the theory of grouting and has established the elementary theory for the following work; Secondly, analyzing several factors which impact the value of uplifting deformation of the toe slab, such as grouting pressure, injection rate, observation distance and the thickness of the toe slab, which make us know in-depth how these factors affect the value of uplifting deformation of the toe slab; Finally, according to methods of statistical models and methods of probability model, making a simulation for the jointed rock mass system to establish fractured rock mass joint network system for the simulation of grouting process and the analysis computation. By means of using the assumption of conditions and "equivalent rock mass" approach, simplifying the modal of jointed rock mass system to set up a calculation model suitable for the finite element method. Using the finite element ANSYS software to simulate and study of uplifting deformation of the toe slab of grouting process of the actual project - - ZiPingpu water conservancy project, the results is basic match case with the value of uplifting deformation of the toe slab in the experimental report grouting, then studying the uplifting mechanism for dam toe slab grouting on the basis of the numerical Simulation.
